Thanks! this plugin was just what was needed to supplement the various page headers used throughout my site.

One note, if you’re doing a conditional you can check if an image was uploaded for the current category using this:

The perfect events plugin for anyone, but especially developers

I’ve tried a number of events/calendar plugins on behalf of my clients and this is by FAR the most customizable, well-documented, least-fuss plugin I’ve tried. All the main wanna-have features are free: all-day events, events that span days, events that repeat, a lovely calendar, categories (and user-dictated custom category colors), saved/reusable venues, Google Maps integration, YAY. The paid upgrade gets you booking/e-comm. Very appropriate and well thought out and many kudos to the developers!

The downside (I guess) is that if you’re not happy with the defaults you need to edit theme/template files to get things exactly as you want them. For me of course that’s a huge plus as I’m a developer and want to be able to tweak everything (and I do mean EVERYTHING – every event/archive layout, widget layouts, everything), but for those who want an admin panel with tons o’ options in it that control the look and feel I guess not so much.

Another plus for developers: great documentation, and wherever humanly possible it seems like the devs for this plugin have reused WP core functions rather than rolling their own. Love that.

Extremely useful, actively developed (pro version)

My experience is with the Pro/developer version, which I purchased a while back, and it’s been great. Very responsive developer team / support, and they’re actively working to improve the plugin’s features. I love that it integrates with Advanced Custom Fields. Wonderful plugin, I use it on every site now!

Good functionality, poor interface – and support?

I love what this plugin does, but it takes a while to figure out how to use it. The on/off switches are counter-intuitive, and there’s no good global settings page.

I also wonder if any of Clearfy / Webcraftic’s plugins are actively supported as many their free WordPress plugins are out of date. It’s weird that they have Pro versions which they want people to pay for when their Free versions are only updated to WordPress 5.3.x. Doesn’t look like they’ve been touched for a year.

Great menu, slows down control panel

Love the functionality of the menu, but sadly it slows down every page of the control panel by adding an upsell meta box that displays whenever you edit any page / post / custom post type. EVERY TIME. The editing experience is cluttered enough without an upsell message on every single edit-post experience, for admins who don’t even have the ability / desire to upgrade. As far as I can tell they make it impossible to hide those notices too.

Great plugin ruined

For years this was my go-to analytics plugin; simple, easy to use, with a streamlined dashboard widget my clients could understand. Now it’s huge, bloated, slow to load, with simultaneously too many options and not enough information (unless you pay and pay big).

Incredibly disappointed, hunting for an alternative now.

Invaluable plugin

This is definitely a “developer’s plugin” – not a plug n’ play for those who just want to be able to push a button and have something happen.

That’s the worst that can be said about it. It’s a fantastic, well-documented plugin that opens up a whole new world for developers working with custom post types. Scribu is very active in the community and stays ahead of the curve in terms of WordPress development. The plugin has been around long enough to have a good core of helpful community members who are able to answer support requests as well.

Big uploads take a while so be patient – but it works! Imported all my custom fields AND correctly uploaded/assigned a featured image for a custom post type. Thanks!

Love the plugin – add image resizing please? :)

I love this plugin and all the work you’ve been doing on it, thank you! Really straightforward to use and it’s great that it’s free. The only feature I’m missing big-time is the ability to set a max width/height for uploaded images (restrict to 1600px wide or whatever for ‘full’ size images). My clients tend to upload stuff directly from digital cameras without bothering to crop/resize at all, and those full-size images are speed killers even with optimization applied. Most other image-resizing plugins have this feature (Shortpixel, Imagify, etc) but not Siteground’s. Any plans to add it? ????

Finally, a block that pulls in any custom post type / taxonomy. Awesome job, does exactly what’s needed.

Very responsive developer, great plugin

The plugin doesn’t do 100% of what we need but it’s really well documented and the developers are very responsive. Insanely good for the price (we paid for the Pro version, gladly).

Updated: no longer supported, very sad

Updated 3/4/2021: Sadly it seems this plugin is no longer supported. There are some very simple issues that have been reported for months in the support forum and never fixed, and the developer seems to have gone entirely offline. I think he got a new job. ???? I can no longer use it.

I’ve had a few issues with the plugin but after posting them on GitHub I’ve always heard back within a day and often the fix was uploaded that quickly as well. Overall a wonderful plugin that enhances Gutenberg blocks and the editor without adding a ton of overhead.

Works well, but persistent “do you like this plugin” message very annoying

The plugin functionally is great, but every single page of the admin panel now has a “do you like this plugin” prompt, which cannot be dismissed. Incredibly annoying, makes me want to uninstall.
