Failure on our migration

Tried to transfer a site using the base theme “Avada”; the options didn’t all come across so the header and layout were wrong.
And the site was Cyrillic (Russian language) and all the text came across as ????? ???? ?????

So it might work for you but not with Avada nor with Russian text ????

FIlls error-log with errors

And a recent version update killed several of my clients’ websites. I no longer trust it to not cause more harm than good.

Returns to a user interface that works

WordPress lost the plot with Gutenberg, now they do the same with widgets… one day I guess we’ll be looking for “Another CMS plugin”… sorry.

A great way plugin let down by documentation

I love this module and how powerful it is but on the other hand I think it is a pain to get that information out once in there.

I know they’ve tried to update that but I think they should just stop EVERYTHING and focus on writing their own documentation and how-to’s, and gathering ALL their resources together in a consistent manner and then it could be a game changer.

Perhaps that’s why reviews are so polarised – it certainly irks me to spend hours trying to figure out something that is in the end trivial to do, but just hard to find out how.

A little too simple but works

Sorry I was going to give this 5 stars BUT I had finger trouble.

But, WordPress.org doesn’t allow me to delete a comment to start again or edit the rating on a comment (well not that I can see in FF). Come on WordPress stop mucking about with stupid new features and give some attention to the core system please…

If anybody knows how to delete a comment or change a rating then please let me know!

Great Plugin – our go to backup solution

Works well – backup to DropBox in a controlled fashion. No restore function but that’s not an issue for a developer.

Suddenly WordPress becomes a REAL CMS

Should be core – works really well, makes WP useable as a proper CMS. How come WP never thought of this? (because they’re torn between being a blogging platform and being a CMS: difficult one)

Sometimes I get disillusioned with the the whole web development sector, then I come across somebody giving their time to help the community and I feel good again. This is such a moment – thanks for the effort you put into developing this.

Too many times this works against you

Try getting a REST API setup – good luck with that. Try getting it uninstalled off your site fully – good luck with that too – the unhardening buttons don’t work and the remove it link says it has but it has done nothing.

Unfortunately seems to be broken for Avada/WooCommerce

Trying to allow users to access /my-account/lost-password/ in WooCommerce with the Avada theme I see in console
An invalid form control with name=’g-recaptcha-response’ is not focusable
twice

And it does not allow the customer to reset their password. If I can helpwith debug let me know.
