It’s surprising how much more efficient this plugin makes navigating the wordpress admin, the time saved adds up. I’d be bummed to have to go back to the dashboard without out. Actually a bit surprised it’s not a built-in feature of wordpress. Works smoothly for me on both standard installs and multi-site.
Thank you for this great plugin, even with custom menu, it’s not the same, it works letter by letter, it’s great! A little extra that would have been nice is to put the background items that it finds step by step in green color and open the corresponding submenus. this would make it possible to go even faster. ????

The search functionality in woocommerce doesn’t search by sku by default. This simple plugin adds this functionality search facility of your site, in both the public site and admin panel Just install and activate – no config required. Tested with Woocommerce 1.5.6, 2.0.7, 2.0.18, 2.2.4, 2.2.10, 3.4.4, 4.0.1 and 4.2.0 See the Accompanying blog post for more information.
This plugin adds much needed functionality of searching the sku field but it does not work with the woothemes ajax search plugin.
With ajax enabled, you can still search for sku’s but they are not returned in the predictive results.
Still 5 stars for working as advertised though.
It works great with WooCommerce 2.1.3
Author, please don’t forget to update your plugin.
Highlights search terms within WordPress generated search results, both on the search results page and on each linked post page itself. This plugin is light weight and has no options. It started as very simple fusion between How to Highlight Search Terms with jQuery – theme hack by Thaya Kareeson and Search Hilite by Ryan Boren. It has since evolved with many optimizations, HTML5 and bbPress support. Since version 1.6 it no longer depends on the jQuery library. Features Click through highlights: Highlights not only on WP search results page but also one click deeper inside any of the found pages Character and case insensitive (lenient) highlighting BuddyPress / bbPress compatibility: highlighting within forum searches Caching (WP Super Cache) compatibility Search terms wrapped in double quotes now considered as single term What does it do? This low impact plugin finds all search terms on a search results page inside each post and highlights them with a <mark class="hilite term-N"> ... </mark> tag. Note that N is a number starting with 0 for the first term used in the search phrase increasing 1 for each additional term used. Any part of a search phrase wrapped in quotes is considered as a single term. What does it NOT do? There are no CSS style rules set for highlighting. You are free to use any styling you wish but to make the highlights visible in browsers that do not support HTML5 like Internet Explorer 8 or older you absolutely need to define at least one rule. Modern HTML5 browsers will use their own highlighting style by default, which usually is a yellow marker style background. So what do I need to do? In most cases, it should just work. But you can do two things to ensure backward browser and theme compatibility: Define CSS rules: There are no configuration options and there is no predefined highlight styling. You are completely free to define any CSS styling rules in your themes main stylesheet (style.css) or the Custom CSS tab if the WordPress theme customizer. You can find basic instructions and CSS examples in the FAQ’s. Check your theme: In most up to date themes (including WP’s own default theme) post and page content is shown inside a div with class hentry. This means search terms found in post and page content will be highlighted but not similar terms that accidentaly show in the page header, sidebar or footer. If your current theme does not use the hentry class (yet), this plugin will look for IDs content, main and finally wrapper but if none of those are found, it will not work for you out of the box. See the last of the FAQ’s for ways to make it work. Available hooks and filters hlst_query_vars – The array of WordPress query variables that the plugin will identify as a search query. Must return an array. Default: ['search_terms','bbp_search'] (WordPress abd bbPress search) hlst_input_get_args – An array of GET variables that the plugin will identify as a search query. Must return an array. Default: (none) hlst_selectors – The array of possible HTML DOM element identifiers that the script will try. The first viable identifier it finds elements of will be scanned for search terms to mark, the rest is ignored. So the order is important here! Start with the element closest to, but still containing all the post/page title, excerpt or content. Must return an array. Default: ['#groups-dir-list','#members-dir-list','div.bbp-topic-content,div.bbp-reply-content,li.bbp-forum-info,.bbp-topic-title,.bbp-reply-title','article','div.hentry','div.post','#content','#main','div.content','#middle','#container','div.container','div.page','#wrapper','body'] hlst_inline_script – The inline script that will be added to the plugin script file. Can be used to add to or alter the inline script. Must return a string. Known issues & development If your theme does not wrap the main content section of your pages in a div with class “hentry” or HTML5 article tags, this plugin might not work for you out of the box. However, you can make it work. See the last of the FAQ’s for an explanation. Josh pointed out a conflict with the ShareThis buttons plugin. Since then, that plugin has been completely rewriten so please let me know if the problem still exists. Thanks! When search engine referrer is using SSL (notice the https:// in the URL) then the search terms cannot be determined. Most search engines are always over SSL nowadays. There is no way to get around that issue. Please file bug reports and code contributions as pull requests on GitHub.
Самое лучшее решение! Подсветка искомого текста не только в результате поиска, но также и на конечной странице.
Another great example of a plugin bringing a missing feature to WordPress.
Search Analytics will keep history of the search terms used by your users and group them in a set of statistics including the number of posts resulted from that search term. It can easily aid you in finding what your users are really searching for on your website and make sure you provide exactly what they need. Help and/or ideas are greatly appreciated! You can contribute to the GitHub repository: Search Analytics NOTE: Search Analytics stores all the statistics in your WordPress database. No info is sent to third-party services! Features Record all the search queries made using the standard WordPress search form. Exclude searches made by users with certain user roles or with certain IP addresses Exclude duplicate searches made in certain conditions Choose which user roles are allowed to see the statistics Filter statistics by time periods, with/without results, strings/substrings View each term individual statistics Export data in the current view to CSV Easily delete certain search terms from history Easily erase all history from the database in case a reset is needed Easily erase history older than in case a general cleanup is needed Dashboard widget for a quick glance over your last week’s search stats Multisite compatible Country Geolocation Display search statistics on the front of your website using shortcodes
Pretty awesome plugin. The developer is constantly updating and adding features to it. It helped me find some loopholes in the content and the search results. Can’t wait for the CSV export faeture announced in the roadmap. When that is out, it will be perfect for my needs.
I just love this plugin, hope the author continues updating it. I would love to see a flag and ip address for each search, so i can tell where it came from. Maybe you can use the free Maxmind GeoIP2 databases.
This plugin was exactly what I was looking for. Despite its functionality, it’s very well written and fast. I can’t thank the author enough, since he cared for a specific request I had – he found my idea useful and just proceeded to create the functionality I wanted!
Thanks! I would put 10 stars if I could. Thanks Cornel!
By default WordPress in WP-admin allows users to search only by username or email id. But what if you want to search user by first name or last name or both. What if you want to search by entering only partial email address/id or username or by bio, you cannot do it as by default. WordPress do not come with this feature. This plugin eliminate above limitation. Which could perform search based on full-name, first-name, last-name, email, username and bio. “Extended User Search In WP-admin” Plugin that allows admin to search user much more deeply and overcomes the limit possessed by WordPress. Note :- This plugin is inspired from “Improved user search in backend” and “User First Name / Full Name Search In WP-admin” plugins.
The Learners on my courses never seem to know what email they used to register their account but most seem to know their actual name ha ha! This plugin makes searching my First Last or partial name super simple. THANK YOU!
works great after recent update!! keep on good work. essential for searching user by name and not only username in woocommerce
This is exactly what I was looking for and it seems to work perfectly.
I wanted to be able to search for WooCommerce customers (which are listed in the WP Admin “Users” section) by their first or last name. This plugin took care of that without any changes to the User admin page. Just type in the first or last name and it finds it.
I cannot believe more people haven’t begun using this!
Thanks very much to the developers and keep up the great work!
This plugin works well. Now to figure out how to search by custom fields!

Search Attributes for WooCommerce is a plugin that enables Product search form to look into Product Attribute Names. E.g. as show in plugin screenshots, you can search products using color name. Another useful example is, you can search products using Brand name if you have Brands assigned as attributes. To use this plugin, please make sure that Woocommerce is installed and Activated. Important Notes The plugin may not effect in case you are using some other product search related plugin for woocommerce. Choose your attributes carefully, because the more attributes you choose, the more it will effect on the search speed.
I can’t say how much time I’ve spent looking for a plugin with similar functionality. It does exactly what it needs to do, I just press which attributes I want to include in the search engine and it works.
Just what I needed, search by attribute (artist) since products have albums names.
This plugin simply adds attributes to the WordPress search (or WooCommerce product search). It’s the only plugin to do this for free which I’ve found.
After activating, do not forget to adjust and enable searching by attributes in settings. (It would be even better if it redirected you to the settings when activated, as many plugins do.)
PLEASE, MAKE SURE TO HAVE AT LEAST ONE POST WITH ONE CATEGORY AND ONE TAG BEFORE ACTIVATING Zipped : V2.7 -> 683Ko / V3.0 -> 33.6Ko ! MUCH LIGHTER, but STRONGER than ever ! Effect for any WordPress search input that morphs into a fullscreen overlay. Enlarge the search input and show 5 most recent posts, 5 most used categories and tags with counter. Once a search input is clicked, the whole search element expands to a fullscreen overlay. The fullscreen overlay has a bigger search input. There are no settings for this plugin. Simply activate it, click on any search input and see the magic happens ! In the Customizer, look for FSMS Plugin, design it as you want ! You can change colors, search placeholder’s text and default icons with a styling option ! Don’t forget to take a look at the FAQ Section. If you have some issues don’t hesitate, head over to the Support Section ! If you use this plugin, please consider leaving a Review to give me a push forward 😉 Resources This plugin is created by Manoela Ilic and ported to WordPress by LebCit.
