Template and Pattern Library
EditorsKit now includes access to the Extendify template and pattern library that can be accessed by clicking the “Library” button in the menu bar of the editor. We provide a variety of templates and patterns to serve different use cases and are adding more templates every week.
Note: Templates and patterns rely on blocks and styling applied by the Editor Plus plugin. The Editor Plus plugin is required when importing a template or pattern. If you uninstall Editor Plus, the templates and patterns will still display on your site, but the styling may be affected. Additionally, stock images included in the templates are hosted by Extendify. We recommend replacing the images or adding them to your media library directly.
EditorsKit uses a custom API to fetch templates and patterns from the Extendify template and pattern library. To improve the service and stability we store logs which may contain the following:
- browser type
- referring site
- date and time of request
- category selection or search term
- anonymized IP address
API requests are only made when a user clicks on the Library button.

Updated 3/4/2021: Sadly it seems this plugin is no longer supported. There are some very simple issues that have been reported for months in the support forum and never fixed, and the developer seems to have gone entirely offline. I think he got a new job. ???? I can no longer use it.
I’ve had a few issues with the plugin but after posting them on GitHub I’ve always heard back within a day and often the fix was uploaded that quickly as well. Overall a wonderful plugin that enhances Gutenberg blocks and the editor without adding a ton of overhead.
I worked with Joomla for more then 10 years.
Now I’m learning WordPress, and Gutenberg editor seems to be standard in the WordPress installation.
But not even a “justify”-alignment possible…
This plugin – advised bij ronaldvw, thx man! – gives me a lot of extra text-editing-tools, just what I needed.
Should be standard in a text-editor…will Gutenberg be updated in the future to have al the editing tools we need?
Very good plugin and it is easy to use. Before I used EditorsKit, Gutenberg is very confusing for ‘content writing’ but when I started using EditorsKit, editing became easy.
EditorsKit functions became the key to use Gutenberg easily. If it weren’t for EditorsKit, I would be still using Classic Editor for creating blog posts and for content writings.
As a newly content writer, I am very thankful for EditosKit. I would gladly recommend it to my friends and clients.
Thank you EditorsKit!
This is an awesome lifesafer plugin which adds true value to the Block Editor.
The highlighing colors and the paragraph justify extensions are really nice and helpful.
But the most awesome stuff are the visibility settings for devices and the extended stuff which accepts PHP conditional functions. Perfect for power users!
Thanks for creating this plugin and offering it for free!
I can only but recommend it as a must-have plugin when you are using the Block Editor ????
I’ve been following Jeffrey’s work for a few years now, back when he started with the Widget Options plugin. He’s always produced amazing work, and EditorsKit is by far his greatest plugin to date.
If it weren’t for EditorsKit, I’d still be using the Classic Editor. Seriously, every time I’ve tried to switch to Gutenberg, there’s been a handful of key features that were missing.
EditorsKit added all the functionality I was looking for, and then surprised me with some other really neat features. And it’s all seamlessly built right into the Gutenberg interface. You almost forget that you’re even using a plugin. It’s that smooth.
- The inline editing features are a lifesaver
- You can enable/disable every single setting to customize your interface
- Hide all the WordPress blocks that you’ll never use
- Set default styles so you don’t have to click that setting every. single. time.
- More easily visualize your heading tags
- Show/Hide blocks on different device sizes
- Show/Hide blocks based on user logged in vs. logged out status
The list goes on and on.
EditorsKit has all the features that Gutenberg should’ve had from the start… and then some. And Jeffrey is constantly improving this thing, releasing new features several times a month. Many of which are based on user feedback, which he does as good of a job as anybody at listening to that feedback.
This is THE essential editing toolkit for Gutenberg. Period.
This is still a handy plugin with a couple of must have features I use regularly. My main concerns are the increasing bloat of additional features I do not need. The original ethos was a focused plugin providing some missing features now there are more and more bolt on’s including around Typography which was previously an add on that I never wanted or want a user anywhere near.
The addition of Extendify, which is still not dealt with in satisfactory way in my opinion, is a step too far. I think if should be an opt-in at install, certainly not on by default or managed via a per user basis. Making me 50/50 on keeping this plugin in my default install list since I can’t see the feature set being simplified anytime soon.
