Enhance store functionality with hundreds of free and paid extensions from the official WooCommerce Marketplace. Our developers vet each new extension and regularly review existing inventory to maintain Marketplace quality standards. We are actively looking for products that help store builders create successful stores.
Manage your store from anywhere with the free WooCommerce mobile app (Android and iOS). Spoiler alert: Keep an ear out for the slightly addictive “cha-ching” notification sound each time you make a new sale!
Own and control your store data – forever
With WooCommerce, your data belongs to you. Always.
If you opt to share usage data with us, you can feel confident knowing that it’s anonymized and kept secure. Choose to opt-out at any time without impacting your store.

Developers can use WooCommerce to create, customize, and scale a store to meet a client’s exact specifications, making enhancements through extensions or custom solutions.
- Leverage hooks and filters to modify or create functionality.
- Integrate virtually any service using a robust REST API and webhooks.
- Design and build custom content blocks with React.
- Inspect and modify any aspect of the core plugin code.
- Speed up development with a lightning-fast CLI.
The core platform is tested rigorously and often, supported by a dedicated development team working across time zones. Comprehensive documentation is updated with each release, empowering you to build exactly the store required.
Be part of our growing international community
WooCommerce has a large, passionate community dedicated to helping merchants succeed, and it’s growing fast.
There are WooCommerce Meetups in locations around the world that you can attend for free and even get involved in running. These events are a great way to learn from others, share your expertise, and connect with like-minded folks.
WooCommerce also has a regular presence at WordCamps across the globe – we’d love to meet you.
Contribute and translate
WooCommerce is developed and supported by Automattic, the creators of WordPress.com and Jetpack. We also have hundreds of independent contributors, and there’s always room for more. Head to the WooCommerce GitHub Repository to find out how you can pitch in.
WooCommerce is translated into multiple languages, including Danish, Ukrainian, and Persian. Help localize WooCommerce even further by adding your locale – visit translate.wordpress.org.

It IS free and for really simple e-commerce this plugin is just fine.
The moment, however, that you want do do ANYTHING that is in the slightest way “advanced” you are paying. Not just paying for plugin add-ons or premium plugins that “work with” WooCommerce, but you are also paying a substantial price in your time to figure out which is the right plugin, how to configure it, and whether it’s actually working.
Make no mistake, there are a myriad of possible configurations to consider and setting up e-commerce is not a simple task. The point I am making is that it’s not as easy as one would assume based on the “Sell Anything / Anywhere” pitch for a free plugin.
I made the mistake of trusting my wife’s dog treat business to WooCommerce, it has cost us THOUSANDS in lost sales and configuration time because it’s nearly impossible for mere mortals to set up shipping. The “experts” who I have contacted to contract for help through the WooCommerce site are not there to help – they are there to sell, sell, sell other services that most small businesses can’t afford.
Free can be ever so costly. Consider all options before going for what seems to be the “no brainer” choice. It truly may be a no brainer, and an expensive one at that.
The store to create on this component is not worth it. Better to find professional solutions. On this plugin it is simply impossible to simply take and new attributes to 150 products an additional choice of 4 points, if you already have 3 atributes in your goods. Otherwise changing one product with three choices of drop-down menus from three points in each will result in it being 3 * 3 * 3 * 3 options in each product. And now count if you have such goods 150 or 1000? then you will manually add new attributes to your products for a year. the programmers of this plugin are very short-sighted! If you want loading variable goods via Export/Import – it not work ???? and support write – you can use another plugin. LOL, that is very funny.
You are a dream that came true. Really! Can’t express how much impress there is to share about your intuitive, resourceful and limitless open-source website and e-sore builder. Love everything about woocommerce and wordpress but can never get enough! Thank you indeed for facilitating entrepreneurship in this ever changing yet exciting post-covid19 Era.
if your store having 50+ variation then its too complex to manage the prices
please make variation management easy.
every time price update load alott even on delete variation it stuck for a minute to display all variation
if 100+ variations then its totally RIP
The most recent update to WooCommerce 5.7 is not ideal. While the functionality seems to still be working, you are automatically redirected back to ‘Start Selling’ and set up your online store.
Silly things like a plugin for taxes and suggested plugins for marketing definitely fall into the paid/partner promotion category rather than being something that is needed.
We already have our marketing channels set up and have used WooCommerce since 2016. With the upcoming sales period, this update might be the one that gets me to take our four websites over to Shopify who has better Facebook/Instagram, most email marketing platforms and Google integrations while being better for the users as well.
I would wait until 5.7.1 or later is available to update if you have not updated yet.

EDIT
They released an improved update within two days and I can appreciate that, so I have changed my review. People and companies make mistakes, but fixing the mistake in a timely manner is always helpful. Thanks!
When you’re using this plugin and you need no customizing and no support, all is fine.
But when there is a bug, coming up while updating, you should change to another platform. I’ve bought a few official extensions from wordpress and all are up-to-date, but they’re causing issues while updating wordpress. Asking the Plugin-devs – the problem is in wordpress – wordpress says: any plugins causing problems. WOW!
And a Plus on WordPress: You’ll get standardized answers from a non-expert, who does not focus on the problem.
Good luck!
The plugin is great when it works, but don’t expect any level of professional support. Live chat support does not seem to understand the product very well or are simply reluctant to investigate issues beyond recommending another “plugin of some kind”. Shameful to charge a premium cost for the addons and not back it up with decent customer service!
Biggest scam ever. This is really a crappy bulshit plugin. If you really want to use it you need to spend a lot of money before your site is really as you want it. We have a really small store, how do you think we cant effort multiple times 50$~150$ to get an functional website? I really will not tell anyone to start using this scammy plugin, shame on you!
I updated my woocommerce plugin on the 11th…..and a bunch of functions stopped working. I couldn’t add an order as an admin, I couldn’t edit an existing one….bar codes stopped working, it was a complete mess. I contacted them right away and put in a ticket. NO RESPONSE. Peoples businesses depend on woocommerce customer support when an issue like this comes up. Smart not to have a number to call…..cause you know people would be calling all the time. I am searching ways to possibly transfer over from woocomerce to open kart or something cause this customer service is the worst I have ever seen. I Had to down grade my woocommerce version in order to get it working again and I still have issues. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!!!!
Moved to woocommerce 1.5ish years ago, thus far it has successfully managed over 20,000 orders. Overall, it is very flexible and offers a LOT of customization with a bit of “clunky” interface. WE use product bundles, composite products/custom scenarios and a few other plug ins to make it work with our site . . . It has LOTS of great features. Rather than try to list all the pluses (there are lots). I will just list the major issues we have found using it day to day . . .
1. Unable to manage / create custom breadcrumbs. This creates issues for customers looking at products that work with multiple categories. The customers get lost navigating a product that works in other categories. Example, product XYZ is selected, the breadcrumbs default to a single location. When the customer wants to go back to the correct category it is no longer avaible in the breadcrumbs. Suggested fix: Create the same product for each category . . . talk about management nightmare.
2. The customer interface (cart) is very slow to modify. If customer wants to remove an item from the cart, it can take up to 30 seconds to remove the item from the cart. NO: Not a server or performance issue, we have a dedicated server for our Woocommerce driven site.
3. The learning curve is high for more complex product bundling.
4. You will need to purchase a number of plug-ins to make it work with a number of different products. The plug-ins are billed annually. Overall most have are fairly priced. However, when you need quite a few plug-ins the fees can stack up quickly. The overall cost is still quite a bit lower than most other carts with similar features.
WooCommerce is the most widely used eCommerce plugin for WP, and the initial core software is free. It gets sticky when you want to set up the CONVOLUTED shipping options. Anything other than flat-fee or free.
USPS calculated shipping costs another $80/year. UPS shipping costs another $80/year. If you want to do anything beyond simple shipping (ie free shipping for orders over $150) another plugin. It all adds up, and it gets expensive.
Product variations are also difficult to set up, as it takes two different tabs/screens to initiate. Not something my clients can tackle or even manage effectively.
I wish that WC would pay attention to heuristics and UX the next time they do a redesign.
