This plugin has been amazing. Gone are the days where I have to tell the client “if something doesn’t look right then try refreshing the page, clearing the cache or using an incognito tab”.
2022-02-11 at 17:09:07It works smoothly, and doesn’t nag you to upgrade or cripple your usage on the free tier. All the optimisation is done on the local server which is good in my opinion. The bulk optimise does them all at once instead of 50 image batches like some optimisers. You can set a max upload size to stop your users accidentally posting 24mp photos to the web.
2022-02-11 at 17:41:51This is a great plugin for the client, tried free ones but they didn’t cut it. Worth the upgrade price for exit intent functionality as well.
Had a display issue with the plugin and Google Invisible Recaptcha several months later, contact support and they resolved this issue for me within 24 hours – great support!
2022-02-11 at 17:52:23This is different to all the other plugins out there and lets you send emails via Gmail via an API. This means you can use a clients gmail account in a pinch and not have to worry about them changing their mail password and breaking the website!

2022-02-11 at 19:41:35This is the best free solution that I have come across. Supports blocking the scripts, and easy to configure.
2022-03-23 at 19:29:41I just needed a slide out panel for an existing client. I appreciate high quality free blocks like this so I can respond quickly to the clients needs without having to get budgets approved. It also has a great feature to disable the blocks you’re not using so I kept it simple for the client without introducing a ton of new blocks they didn’t know how to use.
2022-03-23 at 23:27:02Unfortunately, this plugin is way out of date. When you try to use it with links to the video services it converts them all to http links not https.
By the looks of it, it also uses embed methods that are no longer supported, at least with YouTube. Looking at the source code it converts the links to /v/ style links not /embed/ ones, so you just get a connection refused error.
Seems like it also strips out adding in extra commands to pass to YouTube like rel=0 and similar (although I’m not sure, I think rel in particular doesn’t do anything these days, but all commands are stripped out).
It seems that the lightbox it’s based on was last updated in 2014 and is no longer available on the github repo it has in its copyright.
Needs an overhaul to be useful again.
2022-03-24 at 01:08:31I didn’t realise how good the pro version of this plugin was. If you get hit by server limits on cheap hosts, then upgrade to Duplicator Pro and that issue will be a thing of the past!
I limped along for so long as I just assumed the servers couldn’t handle it and it wasn’t possible, but Duplicator Pro has handled anything that I can throw at it. Not seen a failed build for almost a year now and couldn’t be happier.
Makes life so much easier.
Pro tip: for big exports on cheap hosting, go to the settings and disable compression. You get a bigger download, but the process can speed up by tremendous amounts. Usually if the archive is big, then its images, which are already compressed anyway.
