B-Side Remixes - Friday Night Funkin' Mod is a free video game utility that lets you enjoy the hit indie rhythm game, Friday Night Funkin', differently. Developed by Rozebud, JADS, and Cval, this mod overhauls nearly the entire game, replacing icon and character art and nearly all music with new remixes to freshen things up.
Unlike character mods such as Hatsune Miku and Mid-Fight Masses, B-Side Remixes doesn’t add a new character or week. Instead, it remixes almost everything and gives it a new look—making it one of the most popular mods for this game despite the constant issues with control inputs.

Stay alive by dancingChainsaw Dance is a free music video game that lets you play out the iconic arcade scene in the hit comedy-horror manga, Chainsaw Man. Developed by Benedique, this 2D pixelated indie game offer rhythm game mechanics in the style of Dance Dance Revolution. There’s not much else to the game other than one round and one song, though; it’s still in active development and there are currently no cutscenes or even any fail states.Dance for the chainsawChainsaw Man is a 2018 Japanese action-horror manga series written and illustrated by Tatsuki Fujimoto. It tells the story of a young man named Denji, who ends up becoming a devil hunter and inadvertently turning into a monstrous human-devil hybrid with chainsaws for arms. The manga gradually became popular, selling over 6 million copies and winning the 66th Shogakukan Manga Award in the shōnen category in 2021.sam.cmd.push(function() { sam.display('review-app-page-desktop'); });The story of Chainsaw Dance, however, is a bit more lighthearted compared to its source material. In it, you reenact Kobeni Higashiyama’s DDR scene, wherein she was forced to dance during a date with the dangerous main character. You’ll take control of Kobeni’s steps and try to accurately hit all incoming arrows on the screen with the corresponding keys. Unfortunately, the most you’ll get is just a high score and no special CG for your win. This is because this game is just a demo and only contains one song. However, this also means that you can’t fail or die and can continue to try beating your high score. To dance, simply press D for left, F for down, J for up, and K for right. You can’t rebind these but they’re easy enough to master. You can score multipliers for as long as you keep up a streak of good hits.Lots of potentialOverall, Chainsaw Dance is a nice little fangame for the Chainsaw Man. It doesn’t have a story or even a victory splash art but it has much potential and lets players get a good look at what to expect when it gets completed. It’s only too bad that you can’t rebind the controls to the keys you prefer. Nevertheless, it’s a free game you can enjoy and you can even buy the character’s dancing sprites.

Your sister's a Vocaloid in this modHatsune Miku - Friday Night Funkin' Mod is a free video game utility that lets you have a full week of fighting the iconic Vocaloid character, Hatsune Miku, in a rap battle. Developed by evdial and GenoX, this is a fanmade mod for the hit indie rhythm game, Friday Night Funkin'. Similar to the Mid-Fight Masses and Papyrus mods, you get a new opponent and all-new songs to go along with her appearance here. There are also new charts, as well as the addition of character vocals. However, one drawback here is the sudden difficulty spike between songs.sam.cmd.push(function() { sam.display('review-app-page-desktop'); });Is Hatsune Miku in Friday Night Funkin?Friday Night Funkin' is a 2020 free-to-play and open-source music game first created for the Ludum Dare 47 competition. In it, you play as the aptly-named Boyfriend, who’s trying to score a date with his Girlfriend by doing sing-offs against other characters thwarting them. The game’s success and open-source code eventually inspired dozens of mods that feature either original fan-made characters or iconic fictional characters. One of these is Hatsune Miku, who is a personified Vocaloid software voicebank. She’s portrayed as a 16-year-old girl who performs as a virtual idol for the Vocaloid community and the official marketing materials. Her popularity often gets her crossover shoutout roles in various media like shows and games—and this is no different in evdial and GenoX’s Hatsune Miku mod for Friday Night Funkin'.Not to be confused with bbpanzu's Hatsune Miku mod, this particular mod has Miku as Boyfriend’s world-famous older sister who has just recently returned home. With her inclusion comes a full week and four new songs to master—which are actual Vocaloid songs that have been given new charts and Boyfriend vocals. However, each song gets harder and harder in such an insane spike of difficulty.Impress your sisAll in all, Hatsune Miku - Friday Night Funkin' Mod is a great mod to try out for the rhythm game if you’re both a fan of the virtual idol and love a good rhythm challenge. While the difficulty really goes through the roof for each song, they’re familiar songs to Vocaloid fans and can still be easy to follow despite the fast pace.
